Imphal, November 08 2024: Minister Thongam Biswajit on Thursday appeared before the court-appointed advocate commission in connection with an election petition filed in the High Court of Manipur.

The petition was filed in the High Court citing non-disclosure of pending criminal case against the minister while filing nomination for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections held in 2022.The High Court appointed an advocate commission to pursue the case, following which justice Ahanthem Bimol had on October 22 asked the minister to appear in person before the commission on November 6.However, the minister's counsel appealed to reschedule the hearing on November 7, which the court upheld.
