Medical camp conducted at Maram Khunou

Manipur University Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development and Shija Hospitals and Research Institute jointly organised a one-day Free Medical Camp at Maram Khunou village in Senapati district on Saturday with support of the district administration.
Maram Khunou Village was adopted by Manipur University (DVSSD) with an objective to develop it as a model village with proper academic interventions.
The inaugural session of the camp was attended by MU DVSSD head Professor Ch Ibohal Meitei, Tadubi SDO/BDO T Shyamkumar Singh and Shija Hospitals business development manager Th Denish as the presidium members.
Faculty members of Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development, DRDA project officer Micky Pao and Tadubi Block coordinator Kaini B were also present at the camp during which health and other issues of the village especially on capacity building, livelihood and overall economic prosperity of the village were discussed.
A team of specialist doctors from department of General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Eye and ENT rendered free consultations of various health issues of more than 200 people from Maram Khunou and adjoining villages and distributed medicines free of cost.
The village chairman and authorities have expressed their gratitude to the team of Manipur University, Shija Hospitals and district administration for organising the free health camp, the first of its kind
in the village.
