Interaction programme organised

Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) organised an interaction programme for students of the university with Consulate of France, Kolkata on pursuing higher studies in France, at the auditorium of DM College of Arts, here, on Monday.
The programme was attended by Alliance Francaise du Bengale director Nicolas Facino; Campus France Kolkata, French Institute in India manager Sourav Bhowmik and DM College of Arts principal Prof Ch Sheelaramani as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sheelaramani informed that the interaction programme was organised as part of a follow up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and France to introduce French language courses in Manipur and DMU, and provide an opportunity to students to pursue higher studies in France.
Apart from being a great country to pursue higher students, France's Paris is a huge cultural centre providing opportunities in subjects like science, social science, humanities, painting, music, dance, philosophy, etc.
On top of this, various scholarships are available for Indian students, she said and urged DMU students to avail the opportunity.
In his speech, Nicolas Facino said that after the MoU was signed to establish mutual recognition of academic qualification between the students of India and France, many Indian students are now studying in France and availing many opportunities including the much-needed scholarships.
He informed that if the students want to study French language, a teacher could be appointed for the purpose.
Knowing the language of another country acts as a means of increasing communication, brotherhood, culture exchange and camaraderie.
Thus, he assured of extending all possible help to the students who want to pursue higher students in France.
Later, Nicolas Facino and Sourav Bhowmik interacted with the students of the university.
