SDSA forms new executive council

Senapati, September 27 2024: Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) formed a new executive council after the previous tenure ended with election held for the position of president contested by Bosco Kashung of Maram Students' Union (MKS) and A Saloni Tony, former assembly speaker of SDSA.

Other council positions were filled uncontested.

The election took place in the presence of SDSA federating units namely Mao Students' Union (MSU), MKS, Poumai Naga Students' Union (PNTM), Thangal Students' Union (TAJ), and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Senapati Zone.

Senior student leaders and representatives of Senapati District Women's Association observed the election process.

After the election, A Saloni Tony was elected president while MK Digabou Jacob has been appointed as the vice president, Kho Washington KP as general secretary, K Joshua as assistant general secretary, E Siasilakpe as finance secretary, Souveio Livingson D as information & publicity secretary, L Dearson as education & statistics secretary, H Puthon Thangal as games & sports secretary, and A Kajukho as social & culture secretary.

President Saloni Tony expressed gratitude to the supporters and pledged to fulfil his duties honestly and sincerely for the district's improvement and students' welfare.

He called for unity to uplift both society and the student community.

The chief election commissioner administered the oath of office, and subsequently, certificates were handed over to the newly elected members.
