College union sets condition for admission process

Imphal, May 27 2024: Kakching Khunou College Students' Union has urged against initiating admission process in various departments of the college, which lack teachers in contrary to the 2017 ordinance for undergraduates.

In a press meet held at the Union's office on Monday, Debate and Extension secretary Keisham Sagar Singh urged the departments and authority concerned to uphold the 2017 ordinance for undergraduates and not to start the admission process in the departments facing shortage of teachers.

If the authority concerned decide otherwise, they will be responsible for any unwanted consequences resulting from the same, he cautioned.

The secretary continued that as quality education and development of the society is interlinked, collegiate education and adequate teachers are equally important.

Thus, he appealed to the state government to focus more on collegiate education.
