KADUCO celebrates second Foundation Day
Source: Chronicle News Service

Kakching, October 26 2021: Kakching District United Clubs' Organisation (KADUCO) celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at its Wabagai Keithel Macha office in Kakching district on Tuesday.

The celebration was attended by All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) president Ph Nando Luwang as chief guest, KADUCO president Th Chaoba as president and advisor Khaidem Bijoy as guest of honour, along with representatives of various allied organisations and subordinate clubs/organisations under KADUCO.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the KADUCO flag by Th Chaoba.

Speaking on the occasion, KADUCO general secretary Maibam Manishwar Khuman conveyed about the various works undertaken by the organisation in the past two years, including efforts to provide fertilisers to the farmers in need, especially amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his speech, AMUCO president Th Nando Luwang said that the prolonged unresolved issues has put Manipur in a stalemate, the situation continuing to be so during the pandemic.

It has now become increasingly important for clubs/organisation, Meira Paibi groups and CSOs to help resolve the issues so as hand over a better society to the future generation.

Observing the enthusiasm of clubs/organisation, Meira Paibi and CSOs at the time of the elections; Nando said that people no longer fear Covid with the election looming over, even to the point of forgetting familial bonds and putting more emphasis on the polls.

It is at time like this that the CSOs should avoid being used by the candidates and be more careful.

"CSOs play a huge role in resolving the issues of the state.

History has witnessed our forefathers bravely taking down the enemies and as their descendants; we must bravely face the issues plaguing the state.

Additionally, our sisters/mothers should stay extra vigilant against outsiders whose ambiguous natures are well known to all.

Amidst such a dangerous situation, the young people of the state, particularly young men should refrain from abusing substances, gambling or wasting time in the name of the polls,' he asserted.

Nando continued: "The acts and movements of the outsiders and the vanguards of the Indian government need to be closely monitored.

Both the Indian government and NSCN (IM) had ceased hostility and are involved in peace talks, which is a form of delaying tactics.

If the peace talks are finalized, NSCN (IM) can no longer carry out extortion illegally or it could lead to guerilla warfare.

Additionally, the Indian government would no longer be able to engage in divide and rule policy amongst the minority groups.

The use of arms to suppress Manipur's voice of separation from India is also one of the Indian government's oppressive tactics".

Furthermore, the delayed announcement of IRB and Police recruitments for long periods of time is another tactic to suppress the insurgent movement in the state.

A candidate who had to cough up money to join the recruitment process will have no time to join the insurgency, but will want to live get married and live a long and happy life after securing the job.

However, the result of the recruitment process are often suppressed of the fear that the population of the indigenes could increased, he remarked and as such, urged the state government to be aware of such tactics.

The AMUCO president then commented on the recent spate of poll violence, stating that it was inevitable as many people who have been affected by the pandemic have no choice but to turn to the wealthy candidates.

Workers of such candidates take full advantage of this situation and proceed to cause the violence.

Urging all not to sell out their soul for the sake of some meager amount of money, Nando said that poll violence is inhuman and not characteristic of the 21st century.

He then urged all concerned against abusing substances during the polls, waste money in unnecessary medical treatments, or fuel discords within the family.

To prevent all of these, Clubs/Organisations/Meira Paibi/CSOs need to make concerted efforts, he maintained.

As part of the function, KADACU honoured many people with simple gifts.
