CPI meet demands removal of CM Biren

The national council meeting of Communist Party of India (CPI) held from July 13 to 15 at Ajay Bhavan in New Delhi, reportedly raised the demand for resignation of Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh.
Addressing media persons at Irabot Bhawan, here, on Wednesday, CPI Manipur State Council secretary L Thoiren informed that among other issues the national council meeting had extensive discussion on the Manipur crisis and demanded resignation of chief minister N Biren.
Thoiren also advised N Biren to relinquish the post taking moral responsibility for his government's failure to maintain law and order.
He further informed that the national council meeting reviewed report of the 18th Lok Sabha elections and also featured discussion on the need to sustain movement for welfare and betterment of the people in sync with the CPI's ideology 'scientific socialism'.
Thoiren also said that the CPI will celebrate its 100th anniversary on December 26, 2025 along with a year long programme/activities aimed at improving people's lives.
He then emphasised that without scientific socialism, the country cannot achieve true development.
