20K jabbed in Sekmai AC; mass vaccination, testing continue

Imphal, July 16 2021: Sekmai AC MLA H Dingo has informed that around 20,000 people of his constituency have been administered Covid vaccine till now.

He conveyed this while inspecting mass vaccination programmes held at Lairen Sajik, Awang Sekmai, Sekmai Nongthombam and Senjam Khunou on Friday.

MLA Dingo further said that more than 30,000 people of his constituency have undergone testing for Covid-19.Lauding the high turnout of people for the mass testing and vaccination programmes, Dingo urged the people to continue supporting the government in combating the pandemic.

Stating that edibles were distributed to around 4,000 households in the constituency that have been declared as containment zones, he assured of extending edibles to families in C-zones continuously.

Meanwhile, a mass covid-10 vaccination programme was also organised at Nongpok Heirok community hall in Lamlai AC on Friday.

In all, 174 people were vaccinated during the programme which was organised under the aegis of Lamlai Kendra Covid-19 Awareness and Enforcement Committee chairperson and Tellou Chana Seijang ZP member A Jamini, Nongren Ching-nungkok GP pradhan M Bilasini and Covid-19 Second Wave Fighting Task Force BJP Lamlai Mandal chairman Kh Ibomcha.

Continuing the efforts of vaccinating all eligible people so as to protect them from Covid-19, Khundrakpam Assembly constituency 2nd Wave Covid Task Force chairman MLA Th Lokeshwar, Imphal East DC staffers, SDO, SDC and CMO Imphal East medical team along with YLL Club (Yaipha Lamjing Lup) Khundrakpam and PYO Khundrakpam conducted a mass Covid vaccination programme at Khundrakpam Makha Leikai community hall on Thursday.

In all, 455 people were vaccinated during the programme.

Under the supervision of Manipur Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Kongkham Robindro, Imphal West district administration along with Khuman Leipakki Lamyanba Kanglup (KLLK) organised a mass vaccination drive at Mayang Imphal Thana Wangkhei Leikai on Friday during which around 450 people were inoculated against Covid-19.Similarly, works minister and Thongju MLA Thongam Biswajit along with Imphal East district administration and Thongju Kendra Voluntary Workers Covid-19 Relief Committee organised a mass vaccination drive at CHDRO club, Uchekon in which 258 people were administered Covid vaccine.

In all, 1828 people have been inoculated against Covid in Thongju AC so far.

Continuing mass vaccination drive to inoculate every eligible person so as to curb the spread of Covid-19, CMO Imphal West, SDO Patsoi and local club under the supervision of Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai organised a mass vaccination programme at Changangei Maning Leikai community hall on Friday.

On the other hand, under the joint supervision of Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshwar and DC Imphal East, 2nd wave Covid-19 Task Force Heikak-mapal Awang Leikai organsied a mass testing programme at the locality itself.

In all, 145 people were tested, out of which 20 of them were confirmed for Covid-19 .

Out of the 20 positive people, 16 people are from Heikak Mapal Awang Leikai and the remaining four from Taretkhul.
