Imphal, June 12 2024:
With both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah back to power, they should keep their assurances of putting an end to the conflict in Manipur, said Communist Party of India-Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) while asking the Home Minister to visit Manipur immediately to mitigate hardships being endured by the people due to the violence spreading to Jiribam.
In a statement, CPI-MSC questioned whether the centre has a hand in the recent outbreak of the conflict in Jiribam district.
It continued that since Amit Shah has retained portfolio of home, he should uphold his assurances of putting an end to the violence by coming to the state immediately.
It further urged the centre to look into the plight of those whose houses have been burned down in Jiribam.
