MLA RK Imo vows unbiased public service

MLA RK Imo Singh inaugurated the newly constructed Sagolband Ingudam Leikai Meira Paibi Shanglen on Wednesday.
During the inauguration ceremony, the MLA thanked the people for their unwavering support and trust, which enabled him to secure a third consecutive term in office.
He acknowledged that historically, no one in the constituency had won two consecutive terms, except his late father, former chief minister of Manipur RK Jaichandra Singh, who achieved the feat in 1988 and 1990.He credited his continued leadership to the people's belief in his vision and commitment.
Reaffirming his dedication to unbiased public service, he highlighted the "MLA Ana Layenggi Teng-bang" scheme, which was launched in 2022 to provide financial assistance to those in need.
Under this initiative, Rs 20,000 is provided to patients suffering from cancer, kidney, and heart ailments, while families who have lost loved ones in accidents receive Rs 50,000 .
Additionally, Rs 20,000 is given to families affected by COVID-19-related deaths.
He emphasised that these benefits are extended to all residents, regardless of their political affiliation, ensuring that no one in the constituency is left behind.
Additionally, he noted that during the COVID-19 crisis, his office provided Rs 15,000 as personal advance funds to nearly 700 beneficiaries to assist them in constructing PMAY houses.
Many of these houses have now been completed, and the third phase of financial aid is currently being transferred to beneficiaries' accounts, with subsequent phases set to follow soon.
He reiterated that this initiative was undertaken purely for the welfare of the people, with no consideration for political differences.
MLA RK Imo Singh also provided key updates on ongoing infrastructure projects in the constituency.
The commissioning of a new water reservoir at Tera is expected soon, which will significantly benefit the people of Sagolband by improving water supply.
The women's Keithel at Tera Bazar is another major project, with the foundation stone set to be laid on February 14, and operations expected to commence shortly thereafter.
The renovation of Sayang Pukhri is also nearing completion, featuring new retaining walls modelled after the Bijoy Govinda Thangapat structure.
Once finished, Sayang Pukhri will be transformed into a tourist attraction, complete with a park and an open gym to enhance recreational facilities for the community.
In addition to these, several other infrastructure developments across Sagolband are currently in progress and are set to be inaugurated in the coming days.
