Kuki Zo Council formed, new leaders elected

The Kuki Zo Council was officially formed on Friday with the election of five key members.
The Council aims to unify the various Kuki Zo tribes and serve as the highest decision-making body for the community to address political issues and advancing collective interests.
Representatives from numerous tribe organisations, including the Vaiphei People's Council and United Zou Organisation, participated in the formation of the council, which seeks to strengthen the political voice of the Kuki Zo people.
Ch Ajang Khongsai has been elected as the chief of the Governing Council, Haenlianthang Vaiphei as chairman, Thangzamang Zou as secretary, GS Gangte as finance secretary, and Khaikhohauh Gangte as information secretary, according to a statement issued by the newly formed organisations made available to this daily through Kuki Inpi Manipur.
