Theatre advocate calls on Governor

Imphal, July 10 2024: Khenjonglang, a centre for theatre research, production & community welfare, president Dr Sanasam Thaninleima called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday to discuss various initiatives taken up by the centre to help the displaced children residing in relief camps.

As per a release by PRO Raj Bhavan, the Governor had visited the relief camp at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre Relief Camp, Lamboi Khongnangkhong in June month while attending the closing ceremony of 15-day Summer Children Theatre Workshop 2024 .

At the event, the Governor also interacted with 120 displaced children along with their guardians and distributed certificates for their participation in the workshop.

During the meeting, the Governor praised the efforts of Khenjonglang and encouraged Dr S Thaninleima to initiate similar workshops in different relief camps across the state.

She emphasised the importance of these workshops in alleviating stress and promoting mental well-being among the children.

The Governor also assured to extend all possible help, the release said.
