People of Manipur reduced to beggars: CorCom
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, July 08 2024:

Continued from previous edition

Continuing its message on the occasion of its 13th Raising Day, Coordination Committee (CorCom) said the present war in Manipur is closely related with geo-politics and this war benefits India very much at the costs of lives of the people (Kangleicha) of Manipur.

India thinks of realising its dream of becoming super power by dividing WESEA region.

To neutralise anger of the people of Manipur for gifting Kabow Valley to Myanmar as replacement for taking over Andaman Nicobar from Myanmar, India named Mount Harriet as Mount Manipur.

The naming of India's indigenously produced warship as 'Imphal' was nothing but to prove wrong to the global people about killings and torture of people under the draconian Armed Forces' Special Powers Act, 1958 and also show to the global nations that India takes care of the people of Manipur, the CorCom said.

In the name of improving economy of WESEA region, India rechristened Look East Policy into Act East policy but all the bi-lateral or multi-lateral agreements India signed with 10 ASEAN nations have agenda to fight insurgency collectively.

As part of USA s agenda to suppress its economically and militarily competable China, India makes allies and provides help including huge arms and ammunitions to insurgents in Myanmar.

The CorCom statement further said that India signed an agreement with Myanmar in 2008 for the Kaladan project work of which started in 2010 with completion target of 2014.Regardless of the target extended to 2023 the project remains incomplete.

It is a big dream for India to extract resources from the WESEA region and sell the same profitably to ASEAN nations using the Sittwe port of Myanmar.

To achieve this goal, India made friends with Chin, Kuki, Zo people of Manipur (Kangleipak) and Myanmar.

At the same time, India seemingly takes care of Mizo people as Kaladan project will pass through Mizoram from Paletwa.

On the other hand, India is spitting venom to have permanent enmity among the Naga, Meetei and the Kuki communities with ploy reaping success as of now.

Amidst the crucial time, there is also report of the USA endorsing creation of a nation-state called 'Zougam' carved out of parts of Myanmar, Bangladesh and India to counter China.

For the creation of 'Zougam', North American Manipur Tribal Association (NAMTA) has been formed and has started campaining in the United States and European Union.

NAMTA leader Lien Gangte is permanently settled in Canada and colludes with Khalistan to raise fund for the campaign but India remains mute despite knowing this fact.

All the dramas being played by Indian secret agencies like the NIA and RAW are ploys to suppress the people of WESEA particularly the Meeteis and armed organisations (insurgents) belonging to the community.

According to the CorCom, Christian organisations of western countries and NGOs capable of influencing world bodies like the UN and European Parliament are trying to portray the ongoing conflict in Manipur as anti-Christian.

Amidst the crucial time and war, voices of very few and rare intellectuals who are successfully unscrewing the thread fastened by some Kuki mafia in collusion with India at the global level are being muzzled by class collaborators and their hands tightened.

Youth who took up arms for the sake of their motherland are unaware of this and one/two leaders are misleading the invaluable youth, the statement maintained adding that CorCom regrets many Kanglei youth falling into the trap of India and its namesake Manipur government.

What the people of Manipur must not forget is that suppression of terrorism for the sake of national security figured in the 100 days programme of the recently formed coalition government in India and this government will not tackle the Kuki mafia, which is the first and foremost necessity to bring an end to the crisis in Manipur (Kangleipak).

Rather, this government will promote and protect Kuki mafia and instead turn their action to the youth who came out and took up arms to save their motherland.

All these are being done to uproot the 'Idea of Manipur', which has been in Manipur (Kangleipak) since time immemorial with collective survival, sustenance, fighting the enemy together from time to time and protecting sovereignty together.

Many groups emerged as per time to distort the idea of Manipur and some of them may be involved in agenda directly or indirectly while some groups will promote the agenda.

It is natural for some groups to succumb due to repeated instigations but some who are not impressed with such misleading policies emerged as well.

However, frequent calls being made for collective survival and sustenance at this crucial juncture is not to make larger the developing cracks.

There might be cracks on the Idea of Manipur but such calls can prevent from total distortion, the CorCom said adding that intellectuals who speak and raise voice frequently on the Idea of Manipur emerged as they have the spirit of saving the future of Manipur.

Concluding the statement, the CorCom called upon all the communities of Manipur (Kangleipak) to strengthen the spirit of collective survival and fight the enemy together as in the past till achieving the goal of a sovereign Manipur.

(Concluded) .
