New political party 'Leingak' floated

Imphal, February 02 2025: A new political party christened 'Leingak' has been floated on Sunday with the motto of working sincerely for the people, upholding the territorial boundary of Manipur, protecting the land even at the cost of sacrifice, and working for welfare and prosperity of the common people among others.

Speaking at the launch programme of the new political party at Manipur Press Club, Leingak president Haorungbam Sarat termed suffering of the people amid the on-going crisis even worse than the seven years of devastation.

He likened condition of the people to imprisonment, unable to travel freely and with no means to access other states except through the aerial route.

Sarat further explained that the party's formation is aimed at preventing future generations from facing similar hardships while asserting that it is better to die independently rather than to live by depending on others.

With exception of three North Eastern states governed by the BJP, the remaining states with regional parties helming the affairs are experiencing peace and development, he pointed out and urged the people of Manipur to script a new chapter.

Nupi Samaj president Th Ramani also stressed the importance of a government that can address and mitigate the people's suffering.
