CRPF units observe National Unity Day

Imphal, October 31 2022:
Different units of CRPF stationed in the state including Lamphelpat-headquartered 143 Bn and 86 Bn, 109 Bn Mongsangei and 69 Bn Mantripukhri observed the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on Monday.
In separate releases, the CRPF units stated that after organising cycle and bike rallies in the previous days, Unity Run, Pledge Taking Ceremony, Unity Chain, etc., were held to mark the observance on Monday.
143 CRPF organised a Unity Run from its Lamphelpat base to Langol led by commandant Lamkhokham Lhoujem along with participation of second in-command Kumam Sonny Singh, DC Amaree Prasad, AC Ksh Binod Kumar, AC Angara Bou and 250 personnel.
The programme concluded with march-past by a contingent of the battalion, it added.
Similarly, a Run for Unity was flagged off by 86 Bn commandant Mohamand Yusuf from its headquarters with the participation of officers and personnel along with their families and locals.
The Run covered a distance of 10 km starting from Unit HQ Lamphelpat and traversed through NIA Office, BRTF, PS Lamphelpat, RIMS Hospital, Sanakeithel, Thangmeiband, KV-1 Lamphelpat and back to Lamphelpat.
A Pledge Taking Ceremony was also conducted at the Unit Headquarters after completion of Unity Run with the commandant administering the oath, it mentioned.
On the other hand, 109 Bn CRPF Mongsangei commandant Bal Krishna Ram flagged off a Run for Unity and formation of Unity Chain which passed through nearby areas of Mongsangei.
Meanwhile, 69 Bn CRPF observed National Unity Day at its Mantripukhri HQ by conducting Unity Run, bike rally, pledge taking ceremony and formation of unity chain.
