Online legal awareness programmes conducted

Imphal, May 28 2021: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal East on Friday organised an online legal awareness programme on the topic 'Stress Management during Pandemic'.

District and Sessions Judge, Imphal East and DLSA chairperson Rk Memcha, Imphal East CJM Lanleima, Civil judge (junior division) Soubam Justice, JMIC Jiribam Nk Premika and para-legal volunteers attended the awareness programme.

In Thoubal district, the District Legal Services Authority organised a webinar on 'Child Care and Protection during Covid -19 Pandemic' which was attended by District & Sessions Judge and DLSA, Thoubal, chairperson Aribam Noutuneshwari Devi, Chief Judicial Magistrate and DLSA secretary Athokpam Santa Devi, CWC, Imphal West chairperson Thiyam Rajkishore Singh, Judicial Magistrate First Class (Thoubal) Sharda Yengkhom, Judicial Magistrate First Class (Kakching) Laishram Bony Singh, police personnel of Thoubal and Kakching, Child Welfare Committee Thoubal and Kakching chairpersons and members, advocates, Retainer Lawyer Front Office DLSA, Para Legal Volunteer of Legal Aid Clinics under District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal among others.

Meanwhile, Manipur State Legal Services Authority and Department of Social Welfare jointly conducted an online interaction programme on the topic 'Mental Health and Psycho-social support amidst the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic' with children residing in children's homes.

During the online interaction programme, Manipur State Legal Services Authority secretary Ojesh Mutum noted about behavioural changes among the children because of the pandemic and said that the interaction programme was organised so as to look out for such behavioural changes among the children.

Social Welfare department director Ng Uttam and RIMS department of clinical psychologist assistant professor L Rosie talked on several topics during the interaction programme.

As a part of the interaction, Nokphade Cultural team presented a skit based on the theme of the programme.

In connection with the recent Supreme Court judgement on the arrest and detention of accused, District Legal Services Authority, Tamenglong organised an online legal awareness programme for Tamenglong and Noney district police personnel.

District and Sessions judge Imphal West cum District Legal Services Authority, Tamenglong chairman Aribam Guneshwar Sharma talked on the judgement.

Tamenglong and Noney district police officers attended the programme.
