AMRPSWA observes 21st Private School Day

All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) observed the 21st Private School Day at Manipur Press Club here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM) chairman Takhellambam Ojit emphasised on coordinated efforts to ensure that students reap benefits of a unique education system brought by National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which, he conveyed, will prioritise importance to localised curriculum/syllabi, with emphasis on vocational or skill education.
As vocational education should begin from Class IX, BSEM needs to properly guide the Class IX & X students, while CoHSEM will take up the guidance till Class XII.
In this regard, a joint effort with AMRPSWA is of utmost importance, he said, while highlighting the role of recognised private schools in the society.
The observance was also attended by AMRPSWA president L Joy as president; BSEM chairman Akham Joykumar and AMRPSWA advisor N Tomba as guests of honour.
As part of the observance, floral tributes were offered to the portraits of departed' members of the Association, followed by felicitation of senior members.
Later, a discussion session was held which was attended by Association president L Joy, ex-president Doren Kha-Nganba and advisor N Tomba as presidium members.
During the session, four resolutions were adopted, including joint appeal for a disturbance free educational zone, urge department concerned to prepare the curriculum and syllabi under NEP 2020 by October, which would also include teacher training programme for private school teach ers and for the Association to provide technical sup port to teachers; apprise SCERT to take on the role for printing the new textbooks under NEP 2020 for Class JII to VIII, and for the state government to address the Association's demands before enforcing Manipur Private School (Rules And Regulation) Act, 2017, failing which the Association will approach the court.
