Removed from post on flimsy ground: Khaibiaklian

CCpur, November 11 2021: Intending candidate in Singhat assembly constituency for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election K Khaibiaklian, who has been relieved from BJP Churachandpur district general secretary (administration) post few days back, contended that he was relieved from the post on flimsy ground and no prior notification for the same was given to him at all.

Talking to The People's Chronicle, K Khaibiaklian conceded that he was surprised and disturbed when he saw the notice duly signed by BJP district president at this point in time when assembly election is only about three months away and the decision indeed was abrupt and immature.

According to K Khaibiaklian, he was disappointed not with the party but with the leadership as no show cause notice or prior information was given to him.

The notice mentioned that it was just a disciplinary action but Article 25 of BJP's constitution says if anyone is to be removed from his position, then show cause notice should be served seven days before the hearing and the hearing should be on reason for relieving from the post.

However, no such formalities were followed and party's leadership acted arbitrarily, he alleged, adding that even the smallest political party has handbook or law on how to relieve a member from the party.

While claiming that he had worked very hard and dedicated self for the party for the past four years, K Khaibiaklian said that all his contributions for the party has come to an abrupt end in a split of second and this surprised him and his workers so much so that there is a big distrust running among the party workers.

He also vowed to work faithfully for the party and continue to be supporter of BJP despite being relieved from the post.

Meanwhile, the order issued on November 3 by incumbent BJP Churachandpur district unit president Khaipao Haokip said that K Khaibiaklian has been relieved from the post of general secretary of Churachandpur district and replaced by M Paojakhup Zou for smooth and successful organisation of BJP Churachandpur district with immediate effect.
