Search Ops continue, weapons recovered

Imphal, July 08 2024:
Security forces continued to conduct search operations and recovered weapons from various places in the last 48 hours.
According to a police report, a combined team of Imphal East district police and 5/9 GR searched Kamu Tampak under Andro police station from 7am to 9am on Sunday, recovering one each heavy calibre 70 mm launcher, 12 bore single barrel gun, and improvised grenade launcher, two 9mm pistols, three HE-36 hand grenades, two MK-III A2 grenades, two Tube Launchers, an Improvised Explosive Grenade, 56 live rounds, one 70mm explosive shell, one charger and two Baofeng radio sets.
Meanwhile, a joint team of Kakching district police and 86 Battalion BSF (D-Coy) conducted patrolling and search operations in Chan del Lamkhai, Pallel Chandel Road, Pallel Bazar, Pallel Old bridge, AR Crossing, Pallel bridge (new) and Pallel Thong Wangma from 6am till 7.15 am on Monday.
In all, 35 houses were searched and 95 people verified but no arrest or recovery of weapon was made.
Another combined team of Bishnupur district police and A-127 battalion CRPF carried out search operations in Kodompokpi from 6.30am till 8am on Monday.
Altogether 50 houses were searched and 120 people verified.
However, there is no report of any arrest made or recovery of weapon.
