Imphal, August 29 2014 :
The proposed meeting of the All-political Party Committee on ILP which was supposed to be held for the second time on Thursday to discuss the issue of public demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in the state has been postponed to August 30 .
The 15-member Committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as chairman would now meet on Saturday around 2 pm at the office chamber of the Deputy Chief Minister located in the Old Secretariat building .
In the meantime, a draft report formed jointly by Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Manipur was submitted to the Deputy Chief Minister yesterday.
The draft report endorsed many possible reasons for the re-introduction of ILP in the state to which the Committee Chairman has reportedly expressed his appreciation.
On the other hand, an office of the Committee has been opened at the State Legislative complex located at Chingmeirong, Imphal.
However, the second meeting of the Committee would not be conducted at the new office because the construction of the rooms is underway, sources said.
The proposal made in the first meeting regarding the invitation of various reports or suggestions regarding ILP from various legal personalities have been received by the Committee.
So, the committee claimed that the second meeting on August 30 would be able to bring about some concrete reasons for the implementation of ILP in Manipur and hopefully restore normalcy in the state through its implementation, sources added.
