AR conducts Covid awareness programme

To spread awareness in far flung villages of Tou- sum sub-division of Tamenglong district, the Medical officers, Nursing staff and other Para Medical staff of 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (E) conducted a Covid Awareness Programme.
As part of programme, the unit displayed vehicle mounted posters to make the public understand the importance of Covid vaccination and follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
The vehicle traversed through various villages from Mandu, Kadhihang and Abin in its endeavour to reach out to the society even better than before, said a PIB (Defence) release.
The audio message in local language and Hindi songs parody was also played to attract the attention of all residents of the villages and the unit's Covid care Helpline Numbers also displayed for wider publicity of the same.
The helpline numbers 9862053455, 03877267227 are operational 24x7 for anyone wanting help with respect to tele-medicine or seek medical expert advice related to COVID.
44 Assam Rifles Covid vaccination centre has already been made operational since May 26 to assist in vaccination of public around Tamenglong on every alternate day with the help of civil administration.
The medical staff of the unit also urged the public to not pay heed to rumours and get themselves vaccinated at the earliest and stated that vaccine is only safety against spread of this deadly virus, added the release.
