Online classes not feasible in Chandel: NSUC

While noting that the summer vacation of schools is almost over and the educational institutions are likely to resume online classes, Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) had urged authorities concerned to arrange alternative mode of teaching and learning process as conduct of 'online classes is not feasible'.
In a release, NSUC president Joseph Lam-kang said that as online class is not practicable for Chandel district owing to many of the students belonging to impoverished families in addition to poor internet facilities and network Chandel district administration and authorities concerned should arrange an alternative mode of class so that career of students in the remote areas are not hampered.
The release also demanded quashing of the April 27 order which made Kh Ibetombi Devi attached to the directorate of Fisheries Lamphel and Sumpi Pekham Anal appointed as in-charge of Chandel office.
"The union strongly opposes the reinstallation of Ibetombi Devi but is in favour of Sumpi Pekham who will deliver much better," it said.
The NSUC also raised concern over delay in holding elections to the ADC and suggested that the state government devise means to conduct the elections as was agreed with ATSUM on April 7, 2021 .
It recalled that the agreement was centred on issuing notification for the ADC election before May 5 by the state government, which is yet to be translated into action till date.
