Col Rajiv assumes charge as SS, Imphal principal

Colonel A Rajiv of the Army Education Corps assumed charge as the principal of Sainik School, Imphal on October 17 .
In a release, PRO Defence informed that colonel Rajiv has an illustrious career and experience of approximately three decades in the held of education as an instructor and staff at various institutions and strategic HQs of the Indian Army.
He has a vast experience of serving in Sainik School, Balachari in Jamnagar, Gujarat as registrar and principal of Sainik School, Kazakootam, Kerala where he was a cadet as well.
Col Rajiv also served in the Drass Sector during the Kargil War-1999 as an infantry company commander of the Naga Regiment.
The release informed that on assuming the responsibility, Col Rajiv on Friday met education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh.
During the interaction he highlighted various achievements of the institution along with informing the minister that 14 cadets of the school have cleared the written examination for the National Defence Academy, which is conducted by UPSC.
He mentioned various issues that merit attention for improvement of the facilities of the school.
In response, the minister assured of taking up necessary steps for improving the school and to foster an environment of academic excellence and holistic development, said the PRO.
