CCpur reports 41 new cases, Bpr logs 56

Imphal, May 17 2021: Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts reported 41 and 56 new positive cases of Covid-19 respectively in the past 24 hours contrary to 8 and 30 cases respectively mentioned in the state IDSP and Common Control Room report.

According to report released by CMO Churachandpur, 41 people (26 males & 15 females) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases in the district while a total of 33 people (18 males and 15 females) have recovered from the infection in the past 24 hours.

The total number of active cases in the district now stands at 344.There has been no report of Covid-19 death in the district during the last 24 hours.

Out of 115 people tested in RAT conducted at district hospital and other testing sites, 40 (26 Male & 14 Female) of them were confirmed as Covid-19 positive.

One female also tested positive through RT-PCR test.

The total number of positive cases in the district till date is 2833 (1866 males and 967 females).

Out of these, 2428 (1649 males and 779 females) have recovered so far while 61 people (41 males & 20 females) have died.

As per Churachandpur District Hospital authority, all 21 beds at the dedicated Covid-19 Centre, District Hospital, Churachandpur, have been occupied as of Monday.

The hospital currently has 54 D-type oxygen cylinders out of which 8 are full while 22 are currently in use and the remaining have been sent for refilling.

Besides, the DH has 36 B-type oxygen cylinders out of which 8 are currently in use and the remaining have been sent for refilling.

On the other hand, CMO Bishnupur's report informed that 56 people (38 males and 18 females) all from general population were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in the district in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 2060 (2027 general population and 33 Army/CAPF personnel) , while the cumulative number of recovered cases is 1614 (1581 general population and 33 Army/ CAPF personnel) .

The total number of active cases in the district is 377 (all are from general population) .

Out of the 377 active cases, 251 are opting for home isolation; 34 are at COVID Care Centre, Bishnupur; 9 at District Hospital Isolation ward; and 83 at Hospitals out of the district (referred to or opted by the patients).

The district had no fatality on Monday and the cumulative COVID-19 death toll in the district has reached 69 (43 male & 26 female) .

COVID Care Centre, Bishnupur has a capacity of 68 beds of which 34 have been occupied and 34 beds are vacant as of Monday evening.

District Hospital Isolation ward has 10 beds and only one is vacant.

Mention may be made here that all the Covid-19 related bulletins issued by state IDSP, Common Control Room and district CMOs are released at 5 pm daily.
