CFBM organises tree plantation programme

Imphal, May 14 2024:
In a bid to foster environmental stewardship and combat climate change, Change For Better Manipur (CFBM) organised a tree plantation programme at Ramkrishna Mission School, Uripok, on Tuesday.
Conducted under the auspices of the Directorate of Environment & Climate Change, and with the contribution of 74 indigenous saplings of Ushingsha, Bokul, Chingthrao, and Heiranggoi by joint director Phurailatpam Vivekananda, the initiative aims to instill a culture of eco-consciousness among the students.
Ethno Heritage Council Manipur (HERICOUN) vice-president Kongkham Kiran Kumar, and Nirmal Foundation member Robin Sharma Shamurailatpam also joined the initiative as guests.
Members of CFBM joined hands with school students to plant the saplings.
Following the plantation drive, an interactive session was held on topics related to environmental awareness, climate change, and promoting afforestation to mitigate natural disasters.
