Imphal, May 08 2021:
A meeting to finalize Covid-19 vaccination programme for media persons of Manipur chaired by IPR director H Balkrishna and representatives of AMWJU, EGM and Health Department officials was held the director's office chamber on Saturday.
Commending initiative of the CM to vaccinate all media persons on top priority, those present at the meeting decided to start the Covid-19 vaccination programme for media persons from the second week of May.
The date, time and venue for the vaccination will be notified by director (IPR) .
All media persons (accredited and general ID card holders) eligible for the jabs shall produce a photocopy of their Aadhaar card and mobile numbers while fling up forms at the time of vaccination.
The vaccination programme will cover all Government media persons including those working in news sections/units of DIPR Manipur, DDK Imphal, All India Radio Imphal, etc.
The meeting decided to cover the machine man/staff of every media house and distributors as well in the vaccination programme.
It was also decided that AMWJU, EGM and MHJU shall nominate a co-ordinator to facilitate and streamline the vaccination of media persons and tie up with officials of NHM.
Media persons based in hill districts shall be vaccinated at the designated places.
The meeting also decided to allow vaccination of second dose in respect of media persons who have already received the first dose of Covid-19 as part of the programme.
The meeting was attended by NHM state health director Dr N Shyamjai, EGM president Khogendra Khomdram, general secretary Y Rupachandra, AMWJU acting president S Bokuljaoba, UNICEF consultant Arun Meitram and AMWJU secretary (administration) Kh Jyotindro.
