Bishnupur, December 03 2021: District Election Office, Bishnupur organised a district level painting competition on Friday at Ibudhou Sorarel community hall, Toubul to mark the observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities', the observance was held in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Bishnupur, Green Brigade Manipur and Legal Aid Clinic Toubul to promote accessible and inclusive election for PwDs.

As many as 54 students from different schools participated in the painting competition.

District nodal officer for SVEEP Dr Salam Dhana Singh distributed cash' prizes and citation to the winners at the end of the programme.

THOUBAL: International Day of People with Disabilities was observed by district administration Thoubal, District Social Welfare Office Thoubal and NYK, Thoubal in collaboration with Regional Institute of Handicapped Persons (RIHP), Yairipok Bamol Leikai at RIHP complex on Friday.

The programme held under the theme 'Accessible and Inclusive Elections (SVEEP) for the upcoming State Assembly Elections -2022.' was attended by DC/DEO Thoubal Ahanthem Subhash Singh as chief, guest and RIHP Yairipok president Dr Maibam Rajendra Singh as president while DSWO/ NO SVEEP (PwD) Thoubal Arambam Kameshwar Singh and NYK Thoubal DYO/NO SVEEP Michael Thangmilien Mate were present as guests of honour.

As a part of the event, t-shirts and caps were distributed to PwDs who would be first time voters in the upcoming assembly elections.

RIHP also presented blankets to PwDs who attended the programme.

CHANDEL: District Social Welfare Office Chandel along with district administration and SVEEP Chandel jointly observed International Day of Persons with Disabilities at DC Office Complex D-Block, Chandel on Friday.

The programme held as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Campaign was attended by DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar, district social welfare officer Khumujam Tennison and others.

KAKCHING: Differently Abled Persons Welfare Association (DAPWA) Kakching in collaboration with DSWO Kakching on Friday observed International Day of Persons with Disabilities at the auditorium of Library and Information Centre, Kakching Phousupat Leikai.

The programme was attended by Bhubon and Leiren Brick Field proprietor Naorem Nopur Singh as chief guest and senior advocate and national awardee Nongmaithem Madhu Singh as president, while retired chief medical officer Dr Nongmaithem Nabakishore Singh and Kha Manipur College Kakching Chemistry Department head associate professor Naorem Chaoba Singh were present as guests of honour.

Meanwhile, DSWO Kakching and Social Disable's Empowerment Action and Reaction Manipur-Langfneidong jointly organised an observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Langmeidong Maning Mayai Leikai on Friday.

The programme was attended by DSWO Kakching Arambam Kameshwar as chief guest and Langmeidong Gram Panchayat ward member Laiphrakpam Ibocha as president, while Mayeng Lamjao GP pradhan Urikhinbam Narjit Luwang and DSWO Kakching office assistant Shamurailatpam Bisharup Sharma were guests of honour.
