Kakching, June 24 2021:
Asking opposition parties to stop criticising the government amidst the troubling times of Covid-19 pandemic, Hiyanglam A/C MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam called for working together in order to save the lives of the people.
Speaking to media persons at his residence at Langmeidong Bazar on Thursday, Radheshyam Yumnam pointed out that the government has been working with all its might by utilising every possible knowledge and resource to combat the Covid-19 second wave in the state for saving the lives of the people.
During this critical situation, it is unfortunate that opposition parties, particularly the Congress leaders, have been making only negative comments against the government as if the government is remaining idle.
Instead of focusing on nit-picking the works of government in combating the pandemic, it would be helpful to the people if they provide constructive suggestions on how to help the government in combating the pandemic, he added.
Maintaining that the government has been combating the pandemic since the onset of Covid-19 first wave by taking advice of experts from both centre and state, MLA Radheshyam said that the government has even clamped curfew so as to contain the spread of the infectious virus.
As an MLA of Hiyanglam A/C, several Covid related activities have been taken up for the constituency including arranging places to stay for Covid positive people, mass vaccination, mass testing and providing essential items to people of the constituency, he said, while urging all to extend all possible help and fight the pandemic by joining hands.
