Politicians advised to keeping aside differences

Huirem Leikai Sports and Youth Development Association and Naharup Huirem Leikai Women Welfare Association urged leaders of both ruling and opposition parties to keep aside their differences and work collectively for pressuring the centre to end the conflict and restore normalcy in the state.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club, here, on Monday, Youth Development Association advisor Ranjit Huirem stressed the need for finding a path to end the conflict in the state, specifically urging the centre and the state government need to bring stake holders concerned including intellectuals, CSOs, student bodies and religious leaders to the negotiating table for a solution acceptable to all.
Lauding MP Bimol Akoijam's speech in the parliament, he, however, said that the people would have relished had the MP put forward key issues.
The advisor called upon both the ruling and the opposition leaders to impress the union government with regard to implementation of NRC in Manipur (which is not part of Congress' policy), withdrawal of SoO and removal of the phrase, 'any Kuki tribe' from the ST list of Manipur, in addition tohalting all harassments against village volunteers.
