ICAR-KVK celebrates golden jubilee

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research's (ICAR) Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Imphal West, celebrated 50 years of unwavering dedication to agricultural development, on Tuesday.
According to a statement, KVK, Imphal West senior scientist & head Dr Laishram Kanta passed on the ceremonial torch to KVK Ukhrul senior scientist & head Dr S Khogen, signifying the continuity of knowledge and commitment to agricultural progress.
The torch exchange, witnessed by officials including Dr SR Das, Dr Ramgopal Laha, and Dr IM Singh, highlighted the collaborative spirit driving agricultural innovation in tne region.
Established in 1974, ICAR-KVK has been a beacon of agricultural excellence, pioneering research, and extension services tailored to meet the evolving needs of farmers.
Through decades of dedication, the centre has significantly contributed to enhancing agricultural productivity, fostering sustainable practices, ana empowering farmers with vital skills and knowledge, informed the statement.
It also stated that the golden jubilee celebration not only honours ICAR-KVK's rich legacy but also underscores its ongoing commitment to advancing agriculture.
As the torch passed on from KVK Imphal West to KVK Ukhrul, it symbolised the transfer of expertise and a collective resolve to propel agricultural development forward, the statement informed.
Dr SR Das, representing the Quality Review Team, underscored the pivotal role of KVKs in driving agricultural transformation and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing emerging challenges.
He lauded ICAR-KVK's exemplary work in promoting inclusive and sustainable growth and urged continued excellence from KVK Imphal West.
The torch handover ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, agricultural experts, students from College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, and other stakeholders.
