31 test positive during contract tracing

Imphal, June 06 2021: Continuing the aggressive mass testing drive initiated by the Imphal West district administration, 178 people were tested on Sunday as part of contract tracing in areas where many people have been found Covid positive during the last five days of the mass testing, and 31 of them were confirmed to have contracted Covid-19 .

According to a report released by Imphal West DM, contract tracing test was conducted on 178 in five different areas on Sunday.

In all, 23 people were tested in Maklang Makha Leikai, out of which 8 were confirmed for Covid-19 .

In Singjamei Waikhom Leikai, one was found Covid-19 positive out of 26 people tested while out of 94 people tested in Kanto (Khurkhul), 19 people of them tested positive.

In Yurembam Makha Leikai, 31 people were tested and 3 were confirmed to have been infected while at Airport four people were tested but none tested positive for Covid-19 .

On Monday, aggressive mass testing drive will be conducted at Naorem Chaprou Makha Leikai, Moidangpok Khunou Mamang Leikai, Khabi Lairembi, Takyel Khongbal, Thounaojam Leikai, Imoinu Shanglen (Lamboi Khongnangkhong), Yumnam Leikai, Kadangband and Leitong community halls; and at Radha Mandap of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai and Senjam Chirang Khunou Lairembi Shanglen.
