Tourism ministry eyes spruce-up of Imphal, Loktak Lake

India tourism Imphal, Ministry of Tourism organised 'Travel Trade & Hospitality Stakeholders Meeting' at Classic Grande and Sendra Park & Resort Loktak on May 2 and 5 respectively.
According to a statement, Indiatourism Imphal assistant director Ngangkham Lilabati informed that both the interactive sessions was chaired by Ministry of Tourism deputy director general & regional director (North Eastern) Anil Oraw and state tourism department director Ch Ibohal.
During the interactive session where revival and irrfege building plans to draw more tourists were discussed, Anil Oraw assured of conducting image building social media campaign to promote Imphal and Loktak Lake of Manipur.
This initiative encompasses various strategies such as hosting of tour operators & bloggers educational trips, conducting special workshops to help include Loktak Lake in the Incredible India Home Stay and organising interstate FAM trips for tour operators, the statement said.
Anil Oraw emphasised the significance of engaging stakeholders at the upcoming International Travel Mart (ITM) dedicated to the northeast, scheduled to take place in Manipur in November under the auspices of the Regional Director North East.
The ITM FAM trip will extend invitations to tour operators from both India and abroad.
The North East Regional director also announced of organising a grand Tourism & Environment Awareness programme on the occasion of World Environment Day celebration, the release added.
The meeting was attended by Manipur Tour Operator Association president and representatives, Manipur Tourism Forum, Loktak Tourism Development Cooperative Society, IATO state chapter president and officials of Classic Group of Hotels.
Over 60 tourism stakeholders including tour operators, hoteliers, home stay owners and tour guides took part in the interactive session.
