Thoubal, January 05 2025: Meitei & Meitei Pangal Coordinating Committee (MMPCC) has urged authorities concerned to complete the stalled developmental projects in Haoreibi Lilong Ngangou Loukol area under Lilong assembly constituency so as to address difficulties faced by the locals.

A team led by MMPCC president Deben Asem, Turel Ahanbi Zilla Parishad member Abdul Hasim, Oinam Sawombung GP chairperson Asem Romesh and MMPCC members inspected development projects initiated in Haoreibi Lilong Ngangou Loukol area on Sunday.

Speaking to the media after the inspection, MMPCC secretary general Yunush Atiqur expressed remorse that several key projects, particularly under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with PHE Department as the nodal agendy, has been left untended.

Maintaining that failure to complete projects under JJM scheme, which is aimed at provision of potable water to all houses by 2024, is huge setback for residents of Ngangou Loukol, he warned that the MMPCC would block all works of companies involved in case of further delay in completing the assigned tasks within short notice.

Yunush further noted that the state government began construction of Bailey and RCC bridges over the Imphal River in 2019 at Lilong Yangbi Leikai Litan, Samurou Konjil Awang Leikai, Oinam Sawombung Wangoi Gehu, Laiphrakpam Awang Leikai and Atoukhong Maning Leikai, but all remain unfinished.

He called on the departments concerned to ensure timely completion by the contractors involved while also pointing out that the Atoukhong Mini Dam is in urgent need for repairing.

He also appealed to the government to blacktop the 13 km long road in Lilong Haoreibi.
