COHSEM apprises cyber-crime PS on question leak case

In connection with widespread social media posts about leakage of question paper of Physics subject for the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) scheduled on Monday, Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has reportedly registered a complaint case at cyber-crime police station with request for arresting those involved in the scam.
Speaking to media persons at its Babupara office on Monday, COHSEM controller of examinations Oinam Joy expressed serious resentment that some selfish individuals leaked the Physics question paper on social media some minutes before start of the examination.
The examination was slated to commence from 10 am but the Physics question paper was posted on social media including Whatsapp around 9.38 am .
On receipt of information about the leakage, COHSEM immediately approached the cyber-crime police station demanding action against the culprit(s) involved in the scam.
Moreover, committees of COHSEM will discuss about the further course of action, Joy assured.
Pointing out that COHSEM has been taking up strict measures in both the hills and valley of Manipur for smooth conduct of Higher Secondary Examination, he further said that flying squads are closely monitoring examination centres.
Till now, seven candidates, all of examination centres in the valley districts, have been expelled for impersonation, maintained the controller of examinations.
Explaining strict procedures followed in examination centres including frisking of candidates before entering the centre, Joy disclosed about confiscation of notes pre pared notes.
He further informed that conduct of the examination in the hill areas are being monitored with appointment of nodal officer and coordinators.
There are no reports of any unwanted incidents including impersonation in the hills, he added.
