Trees planted at NIELIT campus

Officials from the district administration along with NIELIT executives and several NGO representatives have today planted about 150 tree saplings at the newly constructed National Institutes of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) campus, Tuibong Churachandpur.
The Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav; Thingujam Prameshwor Singh, Executive Director, NIELIT Manipur; Daniel Gangte, president, KIC and representatives from Joint Action Committee Against Non-Completion of Development Work (JAC-ANCDW), CCpur along with several others have planted the saplings comprising of medicinal plants, fruit bearing trees and ornamental plants.

The plantation drive was carried out to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation.
NIELIT extension centre in Churachandpur have been in operation since January 2013, while it takes years to construct the permanent campus which is planned to be inaugurated on November 1 this year.
With a student capacity of 1200, the extension centre at ZEO office presently has about 150 .
