Bharat Rice launched at Akoimart

Imphal East deputy commissioner Khumanthem Diana, officially launched Bharat Rice, a fortified rice brand produced by the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation (NCCF), at Akoimart, Porompat, on Monday.
Akoimart is an outlet of Akoi Services and Marketing Solution, the channel partner and distributor of NCCF.
During the launch event, DC Diana highlighted that Bharat Rice is produced under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and priced at Rs 34 per kg to provide relief to the public from consistent rise in price of rice in the market.
The rice is packaged irr 5 kg and 10 kg bags, making it accessible and affordable for consumers, she said, while expressing confidence that Akoi Services would introduce other food products from NCCF to benefit the public further.
Akoimart proprietor, Ak Surchandra, shared that his company has acquired an initial stock of 100 metric tonnes of Bharat Rice and assured that adequate supplies would be maintained for public purchase.
He emphasised that Bharat Rice is a fortified, adulterant-free brand, ensuring quality and nutrition for consumers.
He further added that other NCCF products would soon be available at Akoimart outlets.
The launch event was also attended by Imphal East SP K Meghachandra, CAF&PD director Robertson Asem, SBI, Porompat chief manager Khwairakpam Vicky, and NCCF Guwahati area manager Shashi Kumar Jha.
