Health centres listed for dengue sample collection

Imphal, September 27 2024:
In response to recent surge in dengue cases, particularly in the urban pockets of Imphal West and Imphal East, the state government has identified several health centres in the two districts as designated sample collection centres.
These centres are connected to the Virology Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) of microbiology department, JNIMS, ensuring that individuals suspected of having dengue can easily access testing services.
Health Services director Dr O Sanahanbi has issued a notification in this regard with the objective to enhance access to dengue testing through the sample collection centres.
In Imphal West, the health facilities identified for the sample collection include Sagolband UPHC (Kwakeithel Hourakchambi), Iroisemba UPHC, Urban Ayushman Aarogya Mandir (UAAM) (Uripok Haobam De wan Leikai), Langol Tarung UPHC, UAAM (Thangal Bazar near Kalibari Mandir), and Kwakeithel UPHC, UAAMs of Haobam Marak Kangjam Leikai, Keishamthong Moirang Ningthou Leirak, and Takhel Leikai Khwairakpam Leikai.
In Imphal East, the health facilities designated for dengue sample collection include Kshetrigao UPHC, Mantripukhri UPHC, Singjamei UPHC, Minuthong UPHC, UAAMs at Hatta Golapati and Soibam Leikai Meri Leirak, Sangaipat UPHC and UAAM near Panthoibi Handloom, Wangkhei.
Mention may be made that the state is witnessing surge in dengue cases in the current month with at least one person succumbing to the vector borne disease.
