Talk only if sovereignty on menu: NSCN/GPRN
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, March 21 2023: NSCN/GPRN president Yung Aung extended his warmest greetings and revolutionary salute to all the Naga people on the occasion of 43rd Naga Republic Day celebrated by the outfit on Tuesday at its council headquarters.

In his message, president Yung Aung conveyed his gratitude and salutation to brave Naga Army who toil day and night in defending land and people from oppressors.

He also extended best wishes and greetings to all ironclad revolutionary brothers of WESEA region who stood with NSCN/GPRN through all weathers to attain the common dream .

According to Yung Aung, Nagas are free in every sense ince thousands of years and every Naga tribe, village, clan or family is free from any domination, persecution or tyranny until the British imperialism dominated both India and Myanmar.

Right after the colonialist left, these two countries came and illegally occupied Naga's land.

Naga forefathers foresaw that Nagas had no future under India and Myanmar hence they fought with all their might so that the future Naga generations may live free as in the ancient times.

In spite of enemy's might, Naga ancestors refused to let tyranny and oppression triumph over their freedom and liberty.

For many decades, both India and Myanmar applied deliberate policies to systematically muzzle the Naga people s right to self-determination and in the course committed brutal atrocities in violation of international norms.

Government of India (GOI) has even gone to the extent to call the Naga patriots as terrorist' in the land of their birth while Nagas are still subjected to her terrorist laws.

With each passing years and at every given opportunity, NSCN/GPRN will keep declaring to the world that Nagas have been partitioned and occupied against their wishes by India and Myanmar.

Today Myanmar remains a country in deep conflict which shattered their political, economic and social system completely but the Nagas cannot remain oblivious to the current Myanmar turmoil or allow their instability to destabilise the Nagas struggle for Independence.

On the Naga political issue, Yung Aung said that the stand of the NSCN/GPRN is loud and clear and 'Sovereignty' is only one point to discuss with either India or Myanmar and nothing else.

It is ironic that the so called Naga political groups, who have long given up their national pledge, without any remorse talk about the revere Naga political issue from the comfy of their ventilated buildings.

The ugly truth is that GOI is utilising these groups to barter the real Naga issue and the Naga political history is changing from bad to worse as these groups are in the process to commit another Shillong Accord' to reduce the hard fought struggle to a mere solution -under Indian Constitution.

These groups are expecting an empty vessel from GOI and their beclouded visions ends in New Delhi, Yung Aung said in his message.

The NSCN/GPRN, as the Naga people s mandate, has the final political authority and legitimacy to declare the sell-out 'Framework Agreement' and 'Agreed Position' as null and void solution and has no legal binding whatsoever, Yung Aung said adding that NSCN/ GPRN will never allow another Naga political blunder to happen under the pretext of lndo-Naga solution.

He also said that NSCN/GPRN will continue to defend the Naga political and historical right at any cost and NSCN / GPRN will out-rightly,reject any hideous anti-Naga solution compromising the political stand of the whole Nagas spreading across the imposed boundaries.

Despite all their tall claims and clamour, the current Naga peace process is infested with unprecedented level of division and disharmony which only complicated the issue even further.

Hence, every Naga tribal bodies, Churches, students, civil societies and intellectuals has all the right reason to label these groups as anti-people for misleading and confusing the Nagas for the last many years.

NSCN/ GPRN is fully alive and res olute in its commitment and will continue to carry forward the political issue with full courage and dignity till to the very end, the NSCN/ GPRN leader said and urged the freedom loving people of the world to continue extending political, moral and diplomatic support to the Naga people.
