Imphal, December 20 2024: The "Living Legends of Manipur" wall calendar for 2025, produced by Sahitya Thoupang Lup (SATHOULUP), was launched at a function held at RKCS Art Gallery in Keishamthong on Friday.

The calendar features portraits of 12 individuals from Manipur who have excelled in their respective fields and earned recognition in the state and beyond.

The function was attended by Manipur University of Culture vice chancellor professor Paonam Gunindro, SATHOULUP chief patron RK Budhimanta and Language Planning and Implementation director Laishram Radhakanta as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

In his address, professor Gunindro stressed on the importance of recognising individuals who have brought pride to Manipur through their achievements.

He said that the contributions of these living legends, across fields such as art, culture, sports and healthcare, play a crucial role in promoting the state and gaining recognition on the global stage.

He also underscored the need to continue encouraging and acknowledging those who enhance state's reputation and progress.
