Legal awareness camp held

Imphal, April 19 2015 :
Chief Justice High Court of Manipur Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra on Sunday said that legal services are lacking in the hill areas.
Kanta was speaking in the one day Legal Awareness Programme organised by Imphal West District Legal Service Authority at LMS Law College Imphal.
He said that the Government is now planning to set up many courts in the hill districts to provide legal services in the entire State and suggested that the best way of resolving the case is the out of control settlement among the parties.
Kanta who was Chief Guest of the function said that due to lack of permanent law teachers in the law college there are many inconveniences to the students.
High Court of Manipur Judge N Kotiswar, High Court of Manipur Judge Kh Nobin and LMS Law College Principal Salatur Rahman attended as Guest of Honours and President respectively in the inaugural function.
Kotiswar saaid the law is democratic principle and the citizens have to be aware the law in the Democratic Country.
Human Rights Law Network Assistant Director Th Premlata spoke on the topic 'Central flagship programmes' while RIMS Psychiatric Department, professor RK Lenin spoke on the topic 'Right to health stress management' .
Judges, Layers, Law students CSO leaders and Police personals attended in the programme.
