Ventilators donated to JNIMS, oxygen to RIMS

Imphal, June 14 2021:
JNIMS Department of Surgery Prof N Jitendra on Monday donated three bi-level positive airway pressure ventilation machines to Teachers' Association JNIMS to aid in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
The machines were sent by Prof Jitendra's friends from UK to Imphal via Kolkata in a flight.
They were later handed over to Teachers' Association JNIMS president, HOD Anaesthesia and HOD Paediatrics.
Mention may be made here that Prof Jitendra in collaboration with his friends in the UK and the USA had earlier presented 10 oxygen concentrators and 6 boxes containing medical items for treatment of Covid patients.
On the other-hand, Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Yumnam Khemchand Singh donated 10 B-Type medical oxygen cylinders to RIMS hospital for use in the welfare of people.
The speaker also distributed cash rewards to selected staff and officials and departments of RIMS for their distinguished services during the pandemic and particularly in the month of May.
The recipients were Covid-19 nodal officer Dr Ksh Birendra Singh, Casualty ward nursing sister Y Binda Devi, Covid-19 Green Zone nursing sister H Uma Devi, casualty ward staff nurse Ruby Sahani, biomedical engineer and oxygen team member K Sudarshan Sharma, CRED supervisor Huidrom Gipson Singh, vaccination officer Dr Vijaya E and team of department of obstetrics & gynaecology, microbiology department and VRDL.
The event held on Monday was also attended by RIMS director Prof A Santa Singh and medical superintendent H Priyoshakhi Devi, said a release issued by RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh.
