In his address, Dr Chinglenkhomba commended CRED and NEWEA for providing opportunities to local weavers, artisans and entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products amid the unrest situation in the state.
He added that MEETAK has been undertaking various developmental initiatives for the benefit of the state's artisans and craftsmen, and encouraged them to strive towards becoming successful individuals.
NEWEA, Manipur chapter president Kangbam Bijoy who was also present on the occasion, said there are around 10,000 entrepreneurs who are making significant contribution to the state's economy.
However, state entrepreneurs face various challenges in participating in exhibitions organised by different departments outside Manipur, he noted.
Bijoy said NEWEA is able to select only 10 to 20 entrepreneurs from the state to participate in such exhibitions, and there have been instances where organisations from other parts of the country have taken advantage of opportunities meant for Manipur.
As part of the programme, the organisers presented appreciation certificates and mementoes to the exhibitors and media persons for their support and contributions.
