Ukhrul college commemorates art & culture day

St Joseph College, Ukhrul, in collaboration with Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL), celebrated Art and Culture Day on Friday, showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage of the region.
Held at the college auditorium under the theme "Tracing the Roots of Our Unique Culture", the event was organised by the Department of Political Science, St Joseph College to deepen understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural heritages of the tribals in Manipur.
Partnering with TMNL, the event aimed to bridge academic insights with traditional wisdom, Offering a comprehensive cultural exploration and interaction.
College vice-principal Joseph Thohrii extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, teachers, students, and alumni, while head of department of political science Dr Seraphina Kamei delivered the keynote address.
Dr Ringkahao Horam, head of the department of political science of Modem College, Imphal, served as the principal speaker.
Distinguished personalities and performers such as Guru AS Rawung, Changthar Leikha & Co, and Thotreiso Keishing, along with Yaireila HA representing the alumni, also attended the event.
The auditorium buzzed with enthusiasm as students, faculty members, local artistes, and cultural enthusiasts came together to celebrate the rich art and culture.
The celebration concluded on a high note, with participants expressing a renewed pride and deeper connection to their cultural roots.
Furthermore, to mark the occasion, the college also launched a memento designed with the College logo, symbolising the institution's brand and trademark.
