Moreh COVID-19 task force volunteers feted

All Community Moreh COVID-19 Task Force members were encouraged and honoured by presenting appreciation certificates and shawls during a simple ceremony held at the conference hall of Tamil Sangam here on Thursday.
Members of Moreh Working Journalists' Union were also felicitated on the occasion by presenting a jacket each.
The functiop was attended by Tengnoupal DC Naorem Praveen Singh, ADC (Moreh) K Jadumani Singh, additional SP (LO) Sangboi Gangte, ex-chairman of ADC Chandel Lhukhosei Zou, ADC Chandel members Lamboi Gangte and Chineiwa Haokip, Tamil Sangam and Border Trade Chamber of Commerce Moreh president V Sekhar and Meetei Council president M Thoiba Singh as presidium members.
In his speech at the ceremony, DC Praveen said that the role played by the Task Force in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic was huge and alertness of the task force formed by leaders of different communities settling in Moreh managed to prevent the pandemic from giving severe impact in the border town.
Vaccination rate in Tengnoupal has reached 81 percent and this is due to contributions of district administration, medical department and All Community Moreh COVID-19 Task Force, he said, adding that their service will be necessary till vaccination rate reaches 100 percent in the district.
He also thanked members of the task force for providing invaluable service round the clock and expressed that third wave of the pandemic could be prevented if the task force volunteers continue to render their service whole heartedly.
V Sekhar also appreciated that the exemplary service rendered by members of All Community Moreh COVID-19 Task Force managed to prevent the pandemic from impacting the border town and its residents.
