Imphal, August 24 2014:
"Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati hailing the arbitrary and unlawful decision of the ZU and the MNU in connection with the murder attempt, physical assault case of Ringsanbou Newmai, a student of Don Bosco College, Maram who is now struggle for life and undergoing medical treatment in ICU of JNIMS Hospital, Imphal is very unfortunate and at the same simultaneously exposed their confused mind on such a serious matter," LNKR Imphal Unit has denounced.
In a statement, president ofd LNKR Imphal Unit N Wimonbou said that it is advisable that NPO and other Senapati district based organisations should wake up and come to their senses considering the fact that most of the criminal activities in the past including murder, abduction or kidnapping, murder attempt, physical assault on nine students belonging to Zeliangrong community and other crimes are committed within the jurisdiction of the NPO, etc.
"The statement of the NPO is a testament of its interest on continuation of such crimes in their jurisdiction.
The NPO should know that the people of this modern era will never allow or accept any criminal to go unpunished.
Any settlement should be acceptable to all parties concerned.
However, the ZU and MNU's claim of settlement which was hailed by NPO is without the consent, involvement or participation, knowledge and not accepted by victim family.
NPO hailing such arbitrary decision is only propagating ill feelings among different communities therefore cessation of such propagation is the only way to bring mutual understanding.
Let the law take its own course as per relevant section u/s 326/34 IPC against the accused for the ends of justice", Wimonbou added.
