In a statement, the Naga student body said: "At the backdrop of the state's repressive policies for scrapping Free Movement Regime (FMR) and construction of border fencing amidist Naga homeland, the Naga people under the aegis of Naga Students' Federation (NSF), launched a 'Reconnaissance Mission' against the state's sinister policy programme covering Chandel and Ukhrul districts from October 21 to safeguard ourselves and the inherent rights over homeland as one family-free people".
"However, we are rippled with sorrow by the trag ic loss of our two beloved brothers who have made their supreme sacrifice for the cause of the people while on the journey on October 24," ANSAM said, mentioning the demise of two Naga youth leaders in an accident in Kamjong area on Thursday.

"Their dedication for the Nagas, vision for better tomorrow, commitment for people's movement and supreme sacrifices to the cause of our people will be written in the history of Nagas and forever be remembered by the generations," ANSAM said.
