Imphal, January 24 2023: The 24th death anniversary of ima Rajani, one of the women leaders of the Nupi Lai movement, was observed under the aegis Of Nupi Lai Memorial Association Manipur at its Tera Keithel office, here, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the observance function which commenced with offering of homage and floral tributes to the portrait of Ima Rajani, Association's steering committee secretary Longjam-ba Meitei recalled that the Nupilal memorial observance was first organised at the state level by the government of Manipur in 1980 wherein a book on Nupilal compiled and written by Ima Rajani was released by the then chief minister Rishang Keishing.

Stating that the book was brought out by Ima Rajani to preserve actual happenings of the historic Nupilal movement in writings and no "misundeipt afidfttg daft 1 -op wer the N|ipilal incident, Lorigjamba informed that the book Ima Rajani had written was distributed by her in libraries and colleges of the state.

The observance function was also attended by mem bers of the association.
