Imphal, December 20 2024: The academic block and hostel of a model residential school in Tamei sub-divisional headquarters under Tamenglong district, constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikash Karyakram (PMJVK) by the Ministry of Minority Affairs was inaugurated by Power minister Thongam Biswajit Singh, on Friday.

The inauguration function of the academic block and hostel, constructed at a project cost of Rs 2562 lakh, was attended by minister Th Biswajit, Relief and Disaster Management minister Awangbow Newmai, PHE minister L Susindro Meitei, Transport minister Khashim Vashum, Kakching MLA M Rameshwar, Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing, Hill Areas Committee chairman Dinganglung Gangmei and Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei.

In a social media post on the inauguration, minister Biswajit highlighted that such initiatives would help empower the minority community, particularly in the held of education.

He stressed the importance of not only providing quality education for future generations but also ensuring continuous developmental work.
