Governor praises AR's efforts to restore peace on state

Imphal, July 17 2024:
Assam Rifles director general lieutenant general Pradeep Chandran Nair called on Governor Anusuiya Ui-key on Wednesday besides visiting the Mantripukhri garrison of IGAR (South) .
Lt Gen Nair along with IGAR (S) Maj Gen Ravroop Singh met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and briefed her about the current security situation in the state.
The officers informed the Governor about deployment of Assam Rifles personnel in the state in the aftermath of the ethnic conflict, which has been continuing since May last year as well as force's preparedness to deal with any situation that may arise at any time in the state.
It was Gen Nair's farewell visit as DG AR to Manipur.
The Governor praised the Assam Rifles' efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the state and encouraged them to continue their work.
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR (S) informed in a statement that Lt Gen Nair held discussion with the Governor on enhancing cooperation and addressing security and peace building issues pertinent to the state.
The PRO also stated that at Mantripukhri Garrison, the general officer laid wreath at the war memorial to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, Lt Gen Nair addressed the troops, extending his appreciation for their unwavering commitment and exceptional service.
The statement also conveyed that Gen Nair encouraged the soldiers to continue their exemplary work and maintain high standards of professionalism and dedication that AR is known for.
During the address, commendations were awarded to outstanding soldiers, recognising their exceptional contributions and achievements.
