Families of missing teens meet Kuldiep Singh

Imphal, July 16 2024: Families of Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi accompanied by former Patsoi MLA AK Mirabai met security advisor Kuldiep Singh on Tuesday and urged the latter for clarity on whereabouts of the missing students by July 24.The families had also submitted a memorandum to the Governor with an appeal for forwarding the same to the CBI, which is handling the case, seeking update on status of the investigation.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, AK Mirabai informed that they pressed the security advisor to locate the missing students by July 24 along with requesting that in case the students were no more alive then either their mortal remains or personal belongings be provided to perform the last rites.

A similar request was made to the Governor on Monday.

Mirabai also disclosed that Kuldiep Singh to contact the Assam Rifles IG and make every effort to meet the families' demands by July 20 .

AK Mirabai added that while they have faith in the security advisor, they will decide on further action with the public if their demands were not met.
